How to Replace Mercedes 190E Brake Pads
1. Raise the front of the vehicle using the floor jack and rest the vehicle on the jack stands. Remove the tire and wheel assembly using the lug wrench. Loosen the caliper bleeder screw on the top of the brake caliper.
2. Insert the screwdriver between the inner brake pad and the rotor and pull on the handle, causing the inner pad to push the caliper piston back into its bore. Close and tighten the bleeder screw. Remove the two slider bolts securing the caliper to its mounting bracket using a socket.
3. Lift the caliper off the rotor. Remove the pads from the mounting bracket.
4. Install the new pads on the mounting bracket in the same position as they were before being removed. Lower the caliper over the rotor, align the two holes and insert the slider bolts and tighten with a socket.
5. Install the wheel and tire assembly and tighten with the lug wrench. Lift the hood and check the fluid level in the master cylinder and fill as needed. Start the engine and pump the brake pedal 10 times before attempting to drive.
